Advance Diploma Research Proposal Feedback:
While the general idea of rural livelihood diversification is worth further investigation, this proposal does not have merit on two grounds. Firstly, there are some passages reviewing the available literature on sustainable livelihood and diversification which are outdated and incomprehensible. Secondly, the basic rationale for proposing to carry out a study of non-farm activities of rural households in Ethiopia is premised on the fact that no data is available on non-farm income sources in the Ethiopian context. This is evidently not the case, the writer cites studies that do explicitly provide data and a simple Google search shows that there is a plethora of studies and reports available on this subject. A successful proposal would demonstrate an ability to clearly express the relevant ideas on the subject matter and ask pertinent research questions related to the latest evidence base.”
