My name is Jessica Burton-Lane and I am 21 years old. I am looking to pursue a part time career as a freelance writer. I have done plenty of editing for friends and family, including a book my mother wrote and published, and enjoy the art of writing substantially. I have written recreationally for many years now and genuinely enjoy expressing myself in this way. I have no formal experience in this field, but I am eager to spread my wings and build myself a resume. I have my high school diploma and I was attending University to become an Early Childhood Education Instructor when my son passed away on June 21, 2013. As you can imagine, my World was quite shaken by this. The emotional turmoil forced me to stop attending my classes and I have since stepped away from it all. I now run a small day home out of my house where I care for three small girls, but the financial security is quite lacking and I am looking for something more. I am also the founder of a Non Profit Organization, Malak's Heavenly Emblems, which has been set up in honour of my son. I specialize in aiding bereaved parents throughout the heart wrenching journey of child loss, while raising money for our local Children's Hospital, and am very passionate in the work I do. I also have a small blog on Tumblr where I speak openly about my son and the pain that his absence has left in our family. It has been nearly a year for us now and I am finally feeling as though I am ready to throw myself back out there and would love the opportunity to write for you.
