Fitted is a 2-sided marketplace that is developing a decentralized, vetted tailor network to make bespoke outfits for customers at scale. We map pre-approved design styles to vetted tailors (for those styles) to produce custom clothing for global fashion demand via order on our website, www.fitted.ng.
Rather than having a ready to wear factory, Fitted has individual tailors sewing to particular standards for pre-approved styles which they have been accredited to sew. We service orders by (a) picking up customer's fabric or purchasing required fabric from a market if they don't have any, (b) handing over fabric to the tailor at their location and (c) picking up the final outfit for tagging (d) delivery of the final tagged outfit to customers. At present, measurements are done manually so there is an element of linking the shortest route between customer, market and tailor there, but we are investing in measurements via smartphone at present.
Thematically, we need algorithms which address variants/derivatives of the Vehicle Routing Problem and the Travelling Salesman Problem. We need to discriminate on who in the network gets what job based on proximity and approval levels across tailors, employees and other stakeholders.
