I have 2 models that need to be skinned in 3ds max, the skeletons have to be the bipeds provided for each model because many animations have already been done for them.
The male model has a coat. This means that apart from skinning the character, the coat needs also to be skinned in a way that run cycles and fight animations don't allow the coat to overlap the body.
The female model has long hair, the hair needs to be skinned.
Both models have to be imported to Unity (Unity Game Engine) and the skinning has to work inside the game engine. I don't know much about 3ds max skinning but fancy 3DS Max constructs like special modifiers that can't be exported to Unity won't work. What I need is to have the correct bone weights in the vertices and nothing more.
Test animations are provided with the models to know that the skinning is working as intended.
