Hello I have a simple Django module with SQLite developed with Visual Studio on Windows 10 connected to bitbucket Git. I am looking for someone to work with me to 1. convert over to postgres on windows 10 2. publish through Bitbucket to Heroku, Cloud9,or similar free-tier cloud solution that can easily scale to paid production Project details 1. Current platform: a. Windows 10, Visual Studio, Python 3.6, Django 1.11, b. SQLite: 1 DB, 18 Tables (including admin), 0 application views c. Bitbucket used for code repository 2. Deliverables a. Database conversion to postgres i. convert Windows platform to postgres ii. install postgres manager (pgArmin or similar), and provide high-level guide iii. convert SQLite to postgres (currently there is minimal data in SQL) iv. snap-shot, backup, and restore of postgres tables b. Bitbucket Git i. link production site to Bitbucket Git for code updates ii. high-level guide on Git integration with production platform c. Hosting i. install application, postgres DB and data, postgres manager, and Bitbucket integration on cloud provider such as cloud9, Heroku ii. high-level operation and management guide for cloud platform Please respond with your experience with 1. We usually use SQLite for development stage and convert it to Postgresql when we're pushing it into staging server as SQLite is not fit for production mode. I work with Visual Studio on Windows 10 for python development and It's one of my experienced area. My hourly rate is bit high but I'll guarantee you about my word and performance. I think this project will takes around a week to complete, can be up to 10 days depending on the complexity. I'm a full-time freelancer and used to work in American timezone so time differences are no problem for me. Good morning. I have many years (decades, actually) designing and developing database applications as a freelancer/contractor to a number of blue-chip banks, telcos (etc.) worldwide. I have worked on just about every kind of OS in existence, but PostgreSQL I have been working with primarily for over seven years. Windows I have been using since v3 (8 bit, over DOS) in the mid-90's. No problem there. In answer to your questions: 1a) A clean Win10 PostgreSQL install will be a matter of minutes. An export of (up to the scale of a million or so records) and refresh to your new system I'd be very surprised if it took more than an hour or two. 2a) Pushing this out to a Heroku build (which, along with bitbucket, I used almost exclusively all of 2016) is mostly a matter of getting your buildpack right. Once you have that set up, it requires little or no maintenance. Experience: 1b) Django. Well over two years, all up. 2b) Postgres Over seven years. 3b) Heroku. One year. 4b) Windows. Over 25 years. 5b) Visual Studio. Exactly none. I would use any freely available (atom?) editor for DB->Python work. 6b) Normally $30USD/hr and up. However, I am looking after my daughter and can only guarantee 20 hours a week (at a minimum...) so less. 7b) A week, maybe two depending on documentation, automated testing or any other frills required. 8b) Out of hours, Europe: actively preferred. 9b) I'm English, fluent. 10b) I can't think of a platform I'm not available on.
