Mattermost Bot for Trimming Logs

The working title for this is "trimbot" We need a Dockerized bot written in the language of your choice (prefer Python, Ruby, Javascript, Go) that will interact with v4 of the Mattermost API [login to view URL] A user will invoke the program by writing in any channel "/trimbot n" where n is a number of days. The program will then look up the requesting member And check that member's status on the team that contains the channel [login to view URL]{team_id}/members/{user_id} If the user has the role of team admin, then proceed with a warning message Trimbot: warning the retention settings for this channel are being changed to n days. Are you sure? /trimbot n confirm Then will go back and delete all posts and files older than n days For example > /trimbot 30 [checks to see if user is Team Admin or System Admin, if so] Trimbot: warning the retention settings for this channel are being changed to 30 days. Are you sure? /trimbot 30 confirm Trimbot: Beginning to trim logs, [goes back and deletes old posts and files] [login to view URL]{channel_id}/posts Trimbot: old posts deleted successfully, future posts will be swept daily Then the bot should maintain a log trimming policy for each channel and make a run once per day to do it (cron is fine).
