abaqus and python

I suggest you do a numerical study with Abaqus. It is possible to carry out this study with less than 1000 nodes and it is therefore possible for you to use the student version of this software. This work relates to the study of the evolution of the dynamic behavior of a turbine blade (having a very simplified form to facilitate the study) during its machining. In the given figure you will find a picture of the blade (flexible part) being machined (the tool that machines is in the gray area). Due to machining the quantity of matter decreases that induce an evolution of the dynamic behavior of the part. The objectives are : 1. Compute the evolution of 3 first eigen frequency for a machining corresponding to the picture (tool going from Z= 0 to Z=Lz and erasing successively 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 elements in the z direction of the raw containing the gray element). Using a python script (Abaqus facility) may be quite useful to define these 5 models. 2. The action of the tool on the part can be modeled by a harmonic force along Z : Fz .sin(omega * t) where t is time (s) and omega the angular tool passing frequency (100 rad/s). We propose de model Fz by a volume force applying on a single element (in grey on the picture). The resultant force is 100 N. The second objective of the work is to compute the amplitude the vibration under the tool induced by this harmonic force. 3. The third objective is more open: find a best place to put a viscous damper in order to divide by five the amplitude of vibrations induced by the tool.
