Write an application for the iPad that will retrieve data from a mySQL or an MSSQL database and graph it over time.
in the app settings the user can select it to be mySQL or MSSQL and enter the address and logon information for the database.
The user will start the application and it will load all of the column names from a single table on a mySQL or MSSQL server.
The user can then place a check next to each of the fields they would like added to the graph? and select a date range from 1h - 30 days. ?
Once the data range is chosen the app will retrieve all the data from the table and present it to the user as a graph. ? The x axis of the graph will be from the first column of the table called "timeStamp".
The x axis should change from minutes to hours as a date range gets larger.
The graph should show a maximum of 24 hours at a time on the screen and should scroll side to side with touch if there are more than 24 hours in the data range.
There should be a "swirly" displayed on the screen whenever the app is fetching data from the database.
## Deliverables
I understand that this is not the typical method for getting the data from a SQL database to an iphone / ipad app but it will be run in a closed environment so security is not an issue.
If it is not reasonable to do this approach, please suggest alternates such as using PHP on a webserver to issue the SQL queries and return the data as xml, and assume I would need you to write that code as well.
