I have written similar email parsing scripts in the past and I'm sure I can take care of this one for you quickly and professionally. To tackle this code, I'd have the script log in to the email account we're scanning periodically (using IMAP or POP3, depending on the mail server), read through the new emails looking for emails that contain the filename variable, and then search for any matching files in the directory and do the rename. Hello. I can propose to use imap php extension (usually it is available on most hostings) to read email. Where is variable in email? Is it in the subject or in the body? Could you please show sample of email to understand how to extract variable. It will be need to setup cron task (usually all hostings allow to do it). How often would you like to run email checker? Once per 10 minutes for sample. I can set up cron task and explain how to change frequency.
