Hi, There are a couple of ways you can move your database. I assume that you are using some version of SQL Server. Firstly, if you have the SQL Server Management tools installed, you can make a backup of the entire database then transfer these files to the virtual server and restore the database. I think this will be the easiest way. Secondly, you can generate scripts for the database objects e.g. tables, view etc as well as for the database data and then run these scripts on the virtual server to restore the database and data. Thirdly, you can export the data to various formats such as CSV and Excel and then recreate the tables using scripts or manually and then import the data to the tables. Another option would be to create a program which would import the tables row by row but this would take the longest. Out of all the options, I believe the first of making a backup and restoring the database would be easiest. How I would approach it is to make the backup on your current server then get the file on the virtual server using FTP or any other method. Once this is done, it's simply a matter of running the SQL management tool and then importing the database. Best Regards, Anthony.

In order to do a succesful migration, we must at least do: In source server - Full backup -Set permissions on NTFS -Inventory of full windows servers conections and users. -etc. In new cloud based server -Install same SQL Server version and updates. -Install other thirty party software like PHP, IIS, etc. -Set NTFS permissions. -etc. The full migration process start first on paper. It may take us 1 or 2 day to define the strategy of migration with the less final user impact. After the strategy is defined, we must do some pre-migration test in order to make sure all is ok. 1 day. Finally, the migration should be done in n days depending on how fast is your internet and how big is your database. Lets talk about the details. Thank you.

The size of the database will be a big factor in how long it takes to migrate servers. Can you tell me the size - in GB? Is it MySQL or MS SQL? What is the application developed in? As long as you have control over the domain and can provide access to the server, it should be relatively simple and painless.

Hello, the only thing that i need to know is when we start? i can generate a script for attach and detach your database from the source server to move them to the new one.
