An interactive map

I'm a producer/director of corporate videos and events in Australia. We're looking to produce an interactive map for a client event in May with the following functionality: A web-based interface where users can enter a town and country. The interface will need to feature the client's branding. As users enter their details, the entry would then appear instantly as a pin/marker or flag on a map of the world. The map should, in effect, be a separate web page so that it can be displayed constantly without the interface. The interface page should feature a link to view the map but shouldn't instantly jump to the map after an entry has been made. The reason is that, at the event, we might have a set-up where users can enter their details on an ipad that's placed in front of a big screen featuring the map. A nice to have would be a window within the map that actively listed, in descending order, the countries that have been "pinned" and the number of entries for each country. Ideally, it would be great if the map could cycle through a sequence where it held for a few seconds on the global view but then zoomed into the listed countries, one after the other but returning to the global view in between. The idea is that we could then see the spread of "pins", i.e. the towns, within each of the listed countries. Another "nice to have" would be having the pin appearing as the flag of the country entered rather than just a generic pin. This isn't essential though. We would expect there to be anywhere from a couple of hundred to a couple of thousand user entries in total.
