2 experts, proactive and responsible, PHP + Front End Team, wanted for building from scratch a Web Application.
The Web Application consists in a Library of different contents (images, posts, documents, files) for suppliers with public profiles and normal users, and includes several advanced features. This Web Application is a second version of an existing website, so we'll have provided content and a migration of data shall be considered.
Functional specs, Behat tests, wireframes and graphic design will be provided. Development will be managed by a Developer with PHP Laravel background.
The developers must:
- work in Laravel 5, using Sphinx for searches, AngularJS for backend, MySQL for DB.
- Evaluate and suggest improvements to the provided Specs, Entities, and Tests.
- follow the best practices of testing driven development, use PHP Unit for Unit testing, and be ready to pass Behaviour Tests written in Behat.
- follow the best practices of separation of concerns, aiming to build a robust system with easily extendable features in the futures.
- communicate daily with the Project Manager in all stages of development for doubts, changes in architecture or implementation.
- be part of the process of Deployment.
The Web Application must:
- Be a Stateless App distributed in different server instances, with distributed storage in CDNs
- Use MySQL Fabric for distribute MySQL (no sharding).
- Consider that our Cloud provider is Rackspace (and that we have their support for deployment).
- consider use of Laravel advanced features: Commands, Queues and different layers of DB Models.
- consider caching optimization of databases and partials for front-end.
The features of the Application include:
- User Levels, User Capabilities, User Impersonation by Admins, Score system based in metadata filled and system.
- Full History of user public/private actions.
- Different types of User Profiles (according to different types of users and capabilities).
- Different types of content uploaded and made available for the users (including images, PDF Documents, embedded Videos and Blog Posts).
- Profiles for each user (with metadata and listing of contents owned bu user).
- Tagging other users in certain contents.
- Multiple Taxonomies (Category, Tags, Country+State, Product, plus some others), all browsable, for the Content Items uploaded.
- Creation of public and private Collections of items created by other (Pinterest-like).
- Public listing of contents filtered by various criteria (taxonomies, owner, and combinations of them), with proper pagination, and sorting according to weight of Items.
- Search of contents powered by Sphinx.
- Users can follow listings or other users, and manage their Followed content in a My Feed private page.
- Maintenance Tasks include processing of PDF Files (extracting of texts), Reports of Visits and other data to users.
- Notifications to Admins and Users based in System Events (user request information about other users).
- Integration with an admin-managed Cart with products and subscriptions, with payments via Braintree. Generation of PDF Invoices based in transactions made. Payment system includes discount coupons and limited-time offers.
- Front-end loading via Ajax (using HTML5 History API).
- Google Analytics event tracking for user actions.
- A ticket support system.

It seems to like to build a digital library which is very close to( in terms of features) with a Document management System (DMS). We have worked on DMS in past couple of time and recent version we ground up using laravel only (we can showcase on next level). We have used SORL/ Sphinx at severside for faster result and search of datasets. The DMS support multi user (Public and Private) while user can upload and download almost all kind of documents and media files.
We have developed app using Ionic framework where it necessary to handle backend using Angular along with front activities, so we know Node and angular at server while Mysql is default with every project we develop (few exceptions of MongoBD).
Since the scope is at higher level but based on experience working on DMS, we are looking 6 weeks as timeframe while cost will be 5300 (20% variation ).Please do share some wireframes or screens you have designed, that will help immensely in giving you a quote as close as possible with minimal of price variation.
We will be interested to talk if this is a serious project initiative from your end as we have worked on DMS.
