You could use your hosting provider's outbound mail server if you have it. If you need higher transactions Drupal could be integrated with Mandrill for outbound emails. You refer to personal emails, does the server run email hosting separately to Drupal? The exact configuration depends on the MTA software used but it is possible to use similar settings. Please advise on the email configuration and I can confirm that it does not require any special config.
