We are two MBA Master students. Looking for web developer (or a team of developers). Currently have the front-end of the site (created with HTML, CSS and a little bit of java). A little information about the site: It will be a community driven e-commerce site where people will be able to sign-up/login, have a profile page, participate by uploading images and photography's. Also, users should be able to buy each others photos or illustrations. These designs also should be available on the site as various types of products. What we need? Backend system that works (concerning scaling and security): - payment system (it can be an open source); - a CMS for content management (it can be an open source specially updated for this project). CMS mostly used for updating product catalog; - supply-chain management system. This is needed for ordering new or "out of stock" products from 1 - 5 suppliers; - Inventory management system. This is needed for tracing the inventory to see which products are in the warehouse, which are going to end soon and etc. Also, it should be connected with front-end as customers could see messages in the product catalogue such as "5 left" or "out of stock" - kind of product quantity control. Also, advices here needed on the technology (the best way to record (or implement) new products (orders from the suppliers) to the site inventory. Is a bar coding system necessary? Or there is a simpler way? What we want here is a convenient way of inventory management to avoid "missing products", or possible thefts from employees. We want to be sure that if we order 5000 pcs. of something and in the end we sell 5000 pcs. and not to end up like with 100 pcs. missing; - Order management system. This should manage orders properly; - Fulfillment (warehouse) management system. Orders should reach this system for convenient fulfillment. It should be something like proper information taken from SQL about the customer (shipping information) and about the order (ordered products with quantity). An ability to easily print this information is necessary (in order to put on shipping bags). When there should be an ability to select those orders as shipped and SQL should properly store them. A function to "revive" order in case of product return is also a must. - Affiliate program. A marketing issue for site users. Other SEO issues we will do ourselves. By using affiliate program site users should be able to generate a unique link and share it with relatives. If new customers come to the site by using this link the user who generated the link should be awarded. - Advices on how to develop very convenient customer service. Develop a custom specially for the project or use any other mod? Other needed features of the web site: - newsletter; - RSS feeds; A link to an accounting system (such as QuickBooks or you can suggest yours) is a must. Everything should be developed concerning web site scalability and security. We accept advices and lessons during planning and during implementation of the project. Also there is no strict time barrier for the project. You can suggest of the time amount you will need to do everything (or part) of the project. After the site will be up and running a company (LTD) will be created. If we will like the work done by you we will definitely contact you when we will need updates. As you can see we are new to the technology issues of this industry (e-commerce) so we will be very thankful for tutorials or advices on how to run an e-commerce site best. We would like to get an approximate offer with information: - a little bit about who you are (several sentences); - several links to projects (prefer e-commerce and community projects) that you did (or contributed to); - technologies that you would use specially for this project to cover our requirements; - software (open source, not open source, custom) that would you use specially for this project to cover our requirements; - other issues that you are thinking to use for this project; - advices from you of more considerations for this project that we have not covered here; It would be better what everything would be covered with approximate pricing.
