Fairly simple eight page website with half of the pages displaying text. One new page will allow users to scroll through a database of available books to either download or display individual titles. A second new page is a discussion forum, using the phpBB software. User login and registration will need to be added as well as allowing certain users to upload books. The site exists in limited form, can be modified or reprogrammed from scratch.
## Deliverables
**Outline of work for Mustard Seed Books Website**
The code was originally written in Front Page then transferred to Dreamweaver. If it?€™s easier to start from scratch or use what I have, I would like it finished in Dreamweaver so I can make future changes. My html code was cleaned up to be as simple as possible, then I ran out of interest/time and haven?€™t touched the project since. I have the latest version of Dreamweaver ?€" CS3.
The web hosting company is called GoDaddy and supports Mysql and PHP. I have checked access to ftp, mysql, and have all the necessary account names and passwords.
The website currently is accessible so you can see the rough design I want it to have.

Here are the main areas of work:
General redesign:
* Right now the site has a side navigation bar, I would like the navigation buttons to be under the header, horizontally.
* I would like site to use the template feature of dreamweaver, to have the template set up with the new navigation, the existing bottom text and the open screen space between the two. I would like that template used for each page.
* I would like to change the current names of the pages (and add pages as needed) to: Home, Books, Forum, Strategies, Partners, Links, Ed Stuff, Mustard Seed, Contact Us
* Include some kind of mouse-over effect for the navigation buttons, when you?€™re on a page, that page is highlighted in the navigation list.
* The site will now include registration, so there needs to be a log in/register option near the top of the screen.
**Books page:** This is the biggest area of work, but a pretty basic piece.
| Title | Level | Words | Genre | format |
| I see colors | 2 | 48 | science | pdf |
| Where are the animals | 3 | 54 | science | pdf/pub |
| Colors | 1 | 45 | gen | pdf/pub |
| I see | 1 | 38 | gen | pdf/pub |

Search
The display shows rows of books with each of the fields displayed (the sample above shows four lines of books displayed, I would like the table to have ten ?€" fifteen lines displayed at a time). The database will eventually have hundreds of books, so the user will need to be able to scroll through the list of books. Clicking on a column header sorts the books by that criteria and a search box allows users to enter information in any fields and search for books matching those fields.
Users can click on a title to highlight that specific one, I want two buttons underneath the table, download and display. The buttons at the bottom, download and display, both do basically what they say. The download button first checks if a user is registered, if so, it opens up a download window with some kind of easy selection option for which format they want (PDF or Publisher for right now) and tells them the typical download stuff, how big the file is, lets them pick where they want to save it, etc. I would like a space for three to four lines of text where I?€™ll put in our copyright info.
For the display button, I?€™d like the user to be able to page through the PDF version of the book with the typical PDF controls for movement and the ability to control the size of the window. I had thought of writing some kind of reader program, but I think I?€™ll start with this. I am assuming that anyone coming to read books here will already have adobe reader installed on their own computers. If they attempt to read a book without reader installed, a prompt should remind them and show them a link for where to download reader.
I?€™d like a button on the books page that says click here to see/download a sample book. This button works even for guests. In whatever message that comes up if a guest tries to download books and can?€™t, I?€™d like a link to the sample title they can see/download.
Last, eventually I?€™ll have other formats users will be able to download books in. I?€™d like the code set up but commented out that will allow users to select books from either of the new formats that I?€™ll eventually include (excel and word).
**Forum:** The second main area of work is where the site map currently says feedback. I would like to use the phpBB forum software. It can be downloaded from either the GoDaddy site (They say they have an installer to set it up on the site) or from their website <[login to view URL]> I would like it set up with my header on top and the classic style (they offer a range of styles). I want myself set up as admin and a few pretend users setup so I can make sure it?€™s working and configured fine.
**Register users:** I?€™d like to allow users to register for the site. I?€™d want them to give us their name, e-mail address and use for books (which would be a drop down menu with a list I would provide), the site sends them an e-mail with some registration code, and they come back to the site and finish registering. I?€™d like only registered users to be able to download books, display books and post on the forum. I?€™d like a second level of registration, users who I have qualified as authors. Those I would go into the database myself and manually change their status. Only activated authors can use a button that you?€™ll put on the partners page, that allows them to upload single books. I would like users to be able to login on the home page, the download books page and at the forum.
I?€™d like a simple way to e-mail the list of registered users that would allow for group e-mails either to the whole group or to selections of members that I can pick through some kind of front end.
There should be options to register (or log in) on the home page, forum page, the download books page and a link in any message that tells users they need to be registered to use some feature of the site.
**Strategies:** This section will display a text file, stored on the site that has embedded hyperlinks, a hyperlink outline and links to other pages.
**Partners:** This page will have the same layout as the strategies page ?€" displaying a text file with hyperlinks. It will also have a button near the top that allows for users registered as authors to upload a book to the site, store them in some directory and send me e-mail when a book gets uploaded.
**Ed stuff:** Empty page for now, will negotiate this separately.
**Links:** I think I?€™ll stick with the same strategy from the strategies page, displaying a text file I?€™ll create in Word or somewhere that has the list of links I want. I?€™ll give the coder a sample list to test functionality.
**Mustard Seed:** The page will look the same, doesn?€™t need to be changed.
**Contact us:** Very simple contact page, gives my e-mail address
**Support for me:** I want a clearly written description of the organization of the site, the location of files, and simple directions for how to change the following items:
Enter/delete/change books in the books database
Enter/delete/change users in the registered users database

As you all noticed, the link to my site was not working. I switched hosting companies and the site is now at the new company. The new link is: [login to view URL] Sorry for the hassle, Rick
