silverlight alarm app

Demonstrate best method for an outside process to trigger events inside Silverlight apps running in browsers. I do not want the Silverlight app “polling?? on a timeslot. Rather I want the outside process to cause an event to be fired in the Silverlight app when something occurs. A practical simple example is:

- IP capable door alarm device in remote building connected to Internet.

- Security dispatchers at a remote location run Silverlight application in their web browser

- When alarm is tripped, a message pops up in the Silverlight app for all web users

... you will make a sample VB.NET\VS2008 desktop app to simulate the alarm, with three buttons on it to simulate three different alarms. You will make a silverlight 3 \ VB.NET app for running in web browsers that just has a textblock on it that changes to display the alarm message whenever a user presses an alarm button on the alarm app. I assume you may need to make an ASP.NET or WCF web service to facilitate communications in the middle.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
