Website is Zen Cart Installation with theme. Concept is the provision of two items for the price of one. Requirement is to ensure that the most expensive items in the cart are the only one's charged. Additional logic added to checkout process, prior to transferring total to paypal for payment. This logic determines the following: (1) Is there more than one item in the cart? If no - then prompt user to choose something else (simply suggesting to same value or less, but in practice user can choose another more expensive item should they wish as the cart recalculates after choice) - or allow customer to proceed to payment with one item only; (2) If there is more than one item - check to ensure the number is even then divide total by 2 and charge only for the most expensive of these items from the division (eg 4 items in cart - two items require payment and these must be the two most expensive of the 4 items). If number is odd - warn user to choose another item - or increment 1 to division calculation and charge for the most expensive of the resulting divided items. Prior to passing to paypal - advise user of fictitious 'saving' by illustrating 'free' items total. Pass calculated total of most expensive items to paypal - along with product codes for all items chosen. Adapting the checkout should not interfere with inventory management of ZenCart - merely the payment calculation. This project should only be undertaken by an experienced ZenCart coder as the solution must integrate with all other, normal ZenCart functionality - ie it is not a standalone solution. Ideally - it will be added to the theme, rather than the underlying zenCart functionality - but this can be determined by the coder if it is more complex to achieve.
