What? __

QuizNation is a free, fast-paced and daily real-time “last man standing” quiz competition with a sponsored prize for the winner. QuizNation is simple and straightforward. Once every other day at the same specific time the quiz begins and once it starts you cannot enter the competition any longer.

As the quizzer advances in the game, he will always be able to observe how many people advance to the next round thereby adding the competition element as well as being able to say in which percentile he is. (Both number and percentage should be observable all the time when quizzing.) In the end there will only be one person left, and he is eventually acclaimed as the winner. The winner will then have to write his name and address to get the price (unless he has a registered account at the page).

Why? __

There is a constant need from people to seek recognition and approval from social circles – whether real life friends and family or virtual communities. That is why the popularity of online gaming competing head2head on certain skillsets are more popular than [url removed, login to view] have been many examples of old-fashioned board and quiz games entering the digital computer and app market with great success. Our concept takes the best of these online games and puts them into a niche of the market.

How is the Quiz build up? __

The quiz has 5 different difficulty levels - 1 is the easiest and 5 is the hardest – the quizzer should be informed every time he moves up a level. Each question has 4 different answers (closely related to each other), the quiz starts with 5 questions in level 1, then 5 questions in level 2 etc. until level 5 where the questions are very hard and the quiz will continue at this level until there is a winner (last man standing). The contestants will only have 8-10 seconds to answer the questions, ideally to reduce the likelihood that people will seek to google the answers.

Who are we targeting?__

University students only (Starting with Copenhagen Business School or San Diego State University) to test the concept, we can reach the students much quicker and we can get sponsored prices from their bookstores and similar student-appealing businesses. Thus signing up can only be done with a student e-mail.

Accounts__

The quizzer can create a free account on QuizNation with their school email, where their point and coins will be stored and where they can see who is the best quizzer on the school, in the region and in the country. They can also choose to connect facebook or twitter to their account when they create it – This part is optional.

The Best Quizzers__

Website should have directmail or mailchimp integrated in order to invite our users for new quizzes with new prizes (or finals inviting the 15 winners at the end of the month).

Other features__

Bonus rounds where they are not disqualified if they answer wrong, but if they answer right they will get fictional coins/credits for their account. – Incentive to create an account.

Design__

The design of the website must be simple and straightforward, while lively and inspiring. We prefer a web 2.0 presence that does not take itself too seriously.

There will only be 3 pages

• The homepage will be Home + Login. Only some brief text that induces the user to login and give it a try. Its 100% free.

• The other page will be a “How it works”-page, which will explain some of the details of the quiz, i.e. how everyone starts at the same time, prizes, etc.

• The 3rd page would be a “Who are we?” page. It will be describing the team behind the company and will be very witty, funny and random in general.

Questions for the developers__

How do we prevent people from googling the questions? – Disqualified when leaving the window on the computer?
