I would like to have coded two sample webparts for Microsoft Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 accessing my SQL Server and mySQL databases.
They should be coded in Microsoft Visual Basic .NET 2002, which is the version we have.
Imagine I have the following table in my database (this sample is taken from my mySQL database).
CREATE TABLE `oz_gasto` (
`id` int(9) NOT NULL auto_increment,
`fecha` date NOT NULL default '0000-00-00',
`id_oz_contacto` int(9) NOT NULL default '0',
`id_oz_proyecto` int(9) NOT NULL default '0',
`id_oz_tipogasto` int(9) NOT NULL default '0',
`importe` float default NULL,
`justificante` char(1) NOT NULL default '',
`visa` char(1) NOT NULL default '',
`descripcion` varchar(255) NOT NULL default '',
`id_oz_diapago` int(9) NOT NULL default '0',
PRIMARY KEY (`id`)
)
I would like to have a webpart with the following controls:
- A text field where I can write down a query, for instance "select * from oz_gasto".
- A button to execute the query
- A grid control to show the results
I am interested in using the same code for both SQL server and mySQL databases, if possible. So all the code to manage the database must be encapsulated in an object.
Since I have never worked with webparts, I would like to receive detailed documentation on how to add the new webpart to the sharepoint portal server, and on how to install and configure it.
