I need an iOS app developed for the iPod Touch/IPhone. The core functionality is to take pictures and upload to a server. The purpose is to streamline our process of capturing photos at different stages of our work process, and to organize them in a consistent manner. This app will be used for internal purposes and not sold or made available to the public.
There should be a few different stages of the process:
1) Work Order Identification: When the application opens, it should prompt the user to scan the Work Order barcode. The barcode needs to be verified as being valid (5 digit number #####).
2) Type of Photo Being Taken: Once the barcode has been verified, it should prompt the user what type of photo is being taken (Incoming Inspection, In Work Process, Outgoing Inspection, or Shipping).
3) Capture: After the user selects the picture type, the camera will re-appear and allow the user to take a photo. Once the photo has been captured, the user should have an opportunity to confirm the picture is satisfactory.
4) Notations: Once the user confirms the photo is satisfactory, the user should have an opportunity to leave comments about the photo so they can notate any points of interest.
5) Submit: After the user confirms the photo is satisfactory, the picture should be uploaded to a server in a JPG format. It should be stored in a manner that is easily accessible. Ideally:
Server\[Work Order]\[Type of Photo]\[login to view URL]
6) Repeat: The user should be prompted to take another photo for this work order, or picture for a new work order.
- If the user chooses to take another picture for this work order, the application should loop back to Step 2 (Type of Photo Being Taken).
- If the users chooses new photo, it should restart the entire process.
Things to take into consideration:
- I'd prefer that the application upload the photo to an FTP Server. This would require the app to have a built in FTP client that would create the directories as required. The only downside is that the Notations the user leaves in Step 4 wouldn't be stored anywhere.
- If there is a better suggestion available as to how to organize the data, I am open to those ideas.

-Download a file
-Upload a file
-Delete a file
-Create a directory(we will customise here)

Usage: Just need to setup the manager somewhere (with hostname, username and password), implement the delegate methods and add the requests to the manager for the above operations.
Apple built-in AVFoundation framework will be used to discover and read barcodes in real-time. After capturing the bar code which will be the main objective is decoding the information(by didOutput metadataObjects:) and generate metadata to check if it is valid or not accordingly
After authentication by Bar code reader, the app will auto populate a pop-up that enables user to select a specific type among 4 options to take photo
UIImagePickerController class will be used to take photo from camera. In this regard, it's a built in property of this class to confirm user for their satisfaction that they can take it once again or can save the taken up photo
If they save it then an another screen will be shown, where they can leave comments about the taken photo. The notations text can't be save on FTP server. But could it save to the local app database? so later on user can see that after fetch from the local DB. Pls confirm
There's a workaround to convert any images to JPG before uploading them to the server, and it is UIImageJPGRepresentation(image, 0);
