The Brief The project is about building a responsive web reservation /scheduling engine with payments by using Meteor JS 1.2.1 and MongoDB mainly composed of two sections: Managing resources: Admin users are able to add and manage the resources available for booking. For example a user adds the name of a meeting room (“Infinity Meeting Room”). Each resources has a name, location, and the manager’s contact details. Each resource has an available list of recurrent time slots. Each time slot might let simultaneous users book, for example: A theater, where a maximum number of users are able to book using different prices for different categories. For example: Let's assume we got two entries in our “resource” catalogue: Entry 1) Name: “Board room”, bookings:{name:”free”, max-capacity:1}, … Entry 2) Name: “Batman returns”, bookings:[{name:”Adult”, max-capacity:10, cost:$20}, {name:”Child”, max-capacity:20, cost:$10}, {name:”VIP”, max-capacity:5, cost:$100}]… On Entry 1: If a user want to book the “Board Room” only one booking will be available within the same timeframe. Whereas in “Entry 2”, the admin added different options were 10 Adults can reserve at $20, 20 kids at $10 and 5 VIPs at $100 within the same timeframe. Admin are able to list attending users’ names, emails, payments, and their categories for each time slot / resource. Booking and Payment. From a list of resources, registered users are capable of listing those available within a specific period of time or matching keywords from title / description. Once listed, users are able to view availability in a timeline with options of: days, week, and months. Users are able to book without paying for those listed for free, given that “the resource” is available for that date and time and it’s below the maximum number of its capacity. Once booked, the user will receive a confirmation email with an pdf ticket as an attachment, the email will include a link for changing dates or canceling attendance. Manager will be notified as well by email. For cost-based-tickets, user will be able to pay directly with a credit card. And they will receive an onscreen confirmation that the payment has went through and will receive a confirmation email that includes a link for changing dates, canceling or requesting refund. Email will contain invoice and printable tickets.
