App for students - open to bidding

1. Can you describe what the app will do and how it will be used? MSSBU is interested in creating an app for 2014 and for this factor, a number of items will need to be included in the app. This will include: 1. A link to our publications, where individuals have the opportunity to click on a link to Synapse our magazine/newsletter so they can download it and read it on their phone. 2. Ability to view a calendar which lists the social events for the year. The calendar should also display the dates of other academic events held by MSSBU with push notification. 3. When individuals click on a social event, it should link to either the MSSBU facebook page or the Facebook event, providing the event has been created and made public on Facebook. 4. Students should have the opportunity to also purchase tickets for social events. 5. Students should have the opportunity to also purchase merchandise on this App as well. 6. There should be a tab which links to the list of Sponsors, and as student click each Sponsor tab -> this should go directly to the sponsor’s website. 7. In future years, we would also like to create a question bank on the App, so people can do practise questions on the app and look at past exam paper type questions. 8. A stream of our Facebook status updates and also a link to our Facebook friends account. 9. A link to the website for MSSBU, preferably in the introduction page. 10. Introduction page of the App should link something similar to the Monash Med School App. (MRSA search on App store). 11. At the moment, we are only going for Apple, but as time goes on, we would also like the app for Android as well. 2. When do you need the app? Before end of June 3. Who is going to use the app? Students in the medical society of Bond university around 500 people 4. How many pages will your app have and what Tabs will appear. Around 5-6 pages preferably depending on costs. We would like a tab on News feed, questions, contact, sponsors, events. 5. What happens when each tab is pressed? What do you want users to see? What do you want the app to do? We want tabs that most importantly for events, purchase our event tickets online, online medical quizzes, news blog, sponsors preferably on home page of app, contact details. We want it to be colourful and attractive yet easy to use. We want to be able to with a click of a button see what events are on, when our exams are, who to contact for certain situations even a map of the university. Perhaps even articles we can attach for new students about things to notice and be aware of. 6. What is your budget for the app? 4000-6000$ 7. Are there any additional features not mentioned we could expect in the app? 8. Are there any Apps out there (and their specific features!) That you love and draw influence from? Monash MRSA:MUMUS app for revision and study something similar but easier to use and with the above features I mentioned. Problems with their apps such as not knowing what each tab does with only pictures should be avoided and such as no back button in there app makes it seem poorly designed. But we would like a similar concept to their app. 9. Does the app record any information from the user? This might be a photo, application form or other. We would like contacts of students recorded or maybe even a facebook log in, number of visits on app for example, 10. Which platforms do you want your app to run on? (ie iOS, Android, Web App?) Preferably IOS, we would like to link the app to our website which is run in wordpress ([login to view URL]) 11) What kind of style would you like? (A carpentry App might have a wood grain look for example) Techy colourful really vibrant and animated type of screen that will attract students to look at it.
