History of herbs and other natural supplements

The topic is nutrition and especially looking to get preferably one to a maximum of two interesting paragraphs on the history individual herbs and other natural supplements. There are about 60-70 to complete in total but we will have multiple hires to complete this task quickly, estimated as 5 topics per hire. The next project will be having people write about the benefits and uses of these things and finally the precautions. We expect to use those that write well in the first step to help us with the next stage of project. We will be checking all submitted works extensively for copyright infringement. Examples of completed topics are shown immediately below: Rosemary: Rosemary has been used since ancient times. Greeks scholars both consumed and wore it to enhance memory and concentration, pharaohs were buried with it and even to today it is sometimes used in funerals and weddings, attesting to its popularity as a symbol of remembrance. For Australians it has become tradition to wear a sprig of rosemary on Anzac Day (25 April) to remember the extensive loss of life at Gallipoli during the First World War, where the herb grew wildly. It is also sometimes worn on Remembrance Day (11 November) as a symbol honouring all the lives lost throughout that entire war. Shakespeare wrote of it in Hamlet: “there’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance; pray, love, remember.” Besides its medicinal and symbolic use its most extensive use has, however, been to flavour and preserve food and as perfume. Vitamin K The practical acknowledgement of the role of Vitamin K in blood clotting may be seen around 2000BC in the time of Abraham in the Bible. Because newborns may be deficient in Vitamin K due to its absence in breast milk and since Vitamin K is at its greatest level on the 8th day after birth circumcision was recommended to occur on this day being recommended on this day. Vitamin D Vitamin D, also known as the sunshine vitamin and its noted importance in human health can be traced back all the way to ancient Greece, when the famous philosopher Hippocrates, the father of medicine, recognised that the areas that received the most sunlight were the healthiest places to live. More than 2000 years later in 1937, scientists showed that rickets, a disease that results in weak and soft bones, could be cured by exposure to sunlight. Today, we now know that Vitamin D has a whole range of health benefits, not just in bone health.
