Ebook called Vortex

My name is Scott Nelson, I am 61 years old and I have multiple sclerosis and the disease had paralyzed my legs and fingers which had put me into a wheelchair, I use a natural speaking program so I can type, called Dragon. What I am trying to achieve is writing a series of five books, called the Vortex. The story is about two young boys going to school on a bus ride, traveling to a distant school called The Magic School, but these two young boys live on another planet called Vortex. With Kindle direct publishing, I have written the first series of Vortex, I tried to publish it into a paperback, but Kindle direct publishing told me I only had 32 pages, which shocked me! I thought I had more pages. Kindle direct publishing, to published into a paperback, you have too have hundred pages or more. I tried to go back into Vortex files, but they have converted into their .doc files and I cannot read what it says. So I can't go back in the file to add to it or fix it or in a better way, but I have four more series I am writing, and how the second series of Vortex II ready to go. I'm finding out the book cover is very important, and I had used one of those book covers in Kindle direct publishing but what I'm seeing on the videos on the Internet that the book covers Kindle direct publishing has, it doesn't work, or I should say doesn't make you know money. So apparently I need help on a Front Cover, help layout of my book and table of contents. I am learning about more about writing in making books. This is all I can do so I need help?
