To Whom It May Concern, We are a team of software engineers and business analysts with 7+ years of experience in professional software development. From your description it is not clear to me how exactly should the program/script know the locations of the tanks, pumps, valves and destinations since they are required as input for the shortest path algorithm. Perhaps they could be represented by an array of 2D coordinates/object type pairs that could be extracted from the diagram file if it contains such data or read from a text file if the diagram is just an image? Since you want the algorithm to be implemented in ANSI C we could create a command line application in C that would take the location coordinates file as input and then show an interactive menu allowing you to specify the starting and ending locations for the algo. The program would then invoke the algo and print the resulting paths and used devices to the console. If you want only the algorithm code to be written in C we could develop the rest of the application in C++ (.Net) and create an application with a graphical user interface instead. We are also available for creating a small demo for you to test before you accept our proposal, as you requested. I'm representing a team of developers but I'm also a developer myself.
