Writer needed for writing High Interest, Humorous and Engaging Short Stories for language learning purposes. We are looking for an experienced short story writer, preferably familiar with the high interest, low readability genre. The project is to write a series of short stories (a total of approximately 20,000 words) for adults using several grammatical and vocabulary restrictions to make the stories easy to read and comprehend while maintaining the reader’s interest and encourage motivation for reading. Please submit 2 samples of previous work - to demonstrate written style and creative approach. The themes for the stories may vary, but may be limited by the repetition requirement of specific words. Some stories will have to be written in only specific grammatical tenses to be introduced as part of a language learning material. A mechanical approach is crucial when writing the stories. You will need to thoroughly follow all of the instructions and limitations. Further info to individual potential writers who show interest: Write a series of 500 word long short stories. Try to make them simple but fun to read. We strongly encourage adventure, detective, mystery and horror genres. A great sense of humour is a big bonus. Unexpected (but not confusing) plot twists and punch lines are strongly appreciated. The stories will be divided into categories of grammatical topics based on verb tenses: some stories are required to be written only in the simple past, present and future tenses. Later ones will build on the previous and add continuous tenses and then perfect, followed by perfect continuous and so on. For practical reasons (since aimed at beginner level English readers), advanced words, unusual slang or complex figures of speech are discouraged. Each story will be examined to meet 5 criteria: 1) How Interesting/engaging the plot is 2) If the grammatical requirements have been met 3) If the simplest language possible was used 4) If the story is easy to understand 5) Overall quality of work should be good
