PROMOTION MAN!

In the years from 1970 to the late eighties, rock n roll produced some of it’s greatest bands that form the very foundation of today’s Classic Rock category at radio stations. The Rolling Stones, Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Bruce Springsteen, and the like are played and consumed by nearly 3 generations today. PROMOTION MAN, a weekly Netflix type(60 minute+) TV series, describes these bands through real first hand accounts of ‘on the road’ moments, from the men and women, whose job it was to get their songs played on radio stations across America. I will provide you with the first hand narrative of the ‘Promotion person’ and the corresponding band. Your job is to write a 60 minute+ screen play, with two live performances(one as an upstart in a club/one in an arena) The first story revolves around the super group, Van Halen as told by Warner Bros local promotion man, Fred Meyers.
