The requirment consists of four parts; literature review, field study, written report and oral presentation as follows:
A) Literature review : Choose any of the system or framework used in business process management / process re-engineering implementation. Write about the selected framework, its principles, implementation process, pros/cons, extent of its use in our region etc. You need then to narrow your interest to at least one perspective that you would like to investigate in more details later on in the field study (such as process perspective, technology or people perspective).
B) Field study : Choose at least one organization in UAE or abroad that have implemented the chosen framework (a bonus for the group who can secure more than one to collect data from!). Prepare interview and data collection protocol organization (such as semi-structured interview) around how the framework was implemented, the triggers or derivers, process architect features, IT architect features, challenges faced, as well as main results achieved so far. Make sure that the selected project was a real BPM project and was not any other management system. You need to focus then more on the perspective of the particular concern you want to investigate as set in Part A above. After data collection, analyze the data and draw conclusions and recommendations.
C) Written Report : A written report should be prepared at the end using MS PowerPoint only. The report should be maximum 1200 words (excluding references) and should cover the following aspects:
• Introduction or executive summary - focusing on the research objective and main findings and conclusions.
• Results, findings and discussion – detailing the results found from the data collection and analyses. Please devote at least one slide for the particular aspect of your focus; the one selected in the literature review and data collection parts.
• Conclusions & recommendations – linking the conclusions and recommendation to the findings and the research objective. Recommendations should preferably be of practical implication of the findings.

D) Oral presentation : The presentation should be maximum of 7 minutes, focusing on the data collection, analyses, findings and recommendations. You can use the same slides developed above for part (C).
Note: Please observe plagiarism rules (i.e. similarity rate) and referencing standards and styles throughout! A similarity rate of more than 20% will results in deduction of significant marks!
