Write two small applications in C++. Let's call the applications PCx and PDAx. They will run on a PC and on a pda. They will be connected by a USB cable. PCx Environment: PC MS Windows XP MS Visual Studio 2005 C++ (Standard Edition) PCx will: 1. Establish a connection with the pda. 2. PCx will startup PDAx (if this is at all possible). 3. Copy/write a .jpg file (just use any jpg file) to the pda directory /images 4. Notify PDAx via a message (or other method) that the image has been written to the /images directory. This notification message shall provide the PDAx with the name of the image file. PDAx Environment: PDA MS Windows CE 2004 MS eMbedded Visual (CE) C++ PDAx will: 1. Run (in a loop I guess) waiting for notification of an image from PCx. 2. Upon receipt of the imageMessage from PCx, PDAx will: 3. Move the image file to the directory /processedImages. 4. Notify PCx that the image has successfully been processed. 5. It will than return to the wait/loop state until another image and notification are received. To be accepted, your solution must process 4 images. When you bid on this, please explain in a PM how you would go about it so that I know you understand the issues involved. Thanks ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Thursday Jan 31, 2008 10:33:05 AM: Hello, I just wanted to get back with all of you who bid to give a status report on the project. When I posted this job I thought the client knew what they wanted. We are still hammering out the details of the larger project. It will take a few more days. I will post anything that changes as soon as I know. The close date has been pushed out to Feb 15 to give a safe margine, though I hope to accept a bid in by Saturday at the latest. Thanks for your interest. * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Monday Feb 4, 2008 10:17:55 AM: Hello all, Here are the revised specifications. The major change is that they do not want PCx and PDAx to send notifications to each other. So PDAx needs to be able to discover for it self, or be notified via the system registry when a new file has arrived. PCx, just put the file on the pda and does not care to hear if it was processed. Below you will find the revised requirements: --------------------------------------------- Write two small applications in C++. Let's call the applications PCx and PDAx. They will run on a PC and on a pda. They will be connected by a USB cable. ------------------------ PCx will: 1. 4. The pda will copy files to the pda every 30 seconds. ------------------------ PDAx will: 1. Run (in a loop I guess) waiting for notification of an image from PCx. a. PDAx will detect that a new image is received either via the device registry or if that cannot be done by checking the image directory every 10 seconds. 2. Upon receipt of the imageMessage from PCx, PDAx will: a. Move the image file to the directory /processedImages. b. Notify PCx that the image has successfully been processed. 3. It will than return to the wait/loop state until another image and notification are received. ------------------------ To be accepted, your solution must process 4 images. Please deliver both a working executable and all source code to include the development environment (e.g. the project files, etc.). I will than review all source code, build the project and run the resulting executables. When you bid on this, please explain in a PM how you would go about it so that I know you understand the issues involved.
