Convert a Highend Wordpress template to a simple website

Customize a wordpress theme to create a simple website for a scientific research group. The theme is already installed in wordpress. It is "Highend - Ultimate Multi-Purpose WordPress Theme". I also imported a demo and then modified it to outline the structure of the website and give an idea of the overall style. You can view the starting version at [login to view URL] As you can see the website will consist of the homepage and 3 top-level pages. 1. HOMEPAGE. The homepage should be extremely simple: (A) the main menu with a search field, (B) revolution slider showing pictures with highlights. The main homepage element is the interactive animation that is presented at [login to view URL] . The animation is a very simple javascript that should be inserted over the rotating homepage images. The main icon should be designed. Some technical details: the position of the interactive element irelative to top left corner is controlled by fractionCX, fractionCY. Its radius is fractionCRadius. All variable are given in the fraction of the size of the document to make sure the size changes when the window sie is changed. 2. TOP-LEVEL INFO PAGES. Info pages should also be simplified to the minimum. An info page will contain the menu with links, the title and a list of entries. There will be 3 info pages: Research, Team, Publications. Each info page show information from a database. More info pages will be added later so it is important to design a mechanism for adding new databases. Even more important is to design pages that present information from databases in an appropriate form. The theme contains a variety of templates to extract data from databases but these must be customize to satisfy specific needs. * The menu: this is common for all info pages. The menu should remain visible when pages are scrolled. It should contain links to all pages and the search bar. The search bar should perform search in all documents on the website using google. The main menu can be left as is. * Research. List of research project. Current theme give a fair representation of the research page. Titles of projects in the list should be larger. Remove cross-icon when mouse hovers over the list. * Publications. List of publications. Each publication should be taken from a database. It should be displayed in its own frame with: title, bibliographic information, collapsable abstract, thumbnail of the first page, link to the publisher's website. See [login to view URL] how to arrange the elements. IMPORTANT: the thumbnail should display "Full text" on mouseHover and should be linked to a PDF file with the full text of the article. * Team. List of group members. The current page is more a less ok. It is in the form of "carousel" now, which is not very satisfactory. It is important that all members of the group are displayed on the same page and in the given order. Clicking on the team member photo or name should bring a very short info page.
