Hello,

I require a Windows VB Script that will map printers. It will be run as a logon script within a Windows AD. Needs to work on Windows 7 64 Bit.

It will have three parts

First Part - Lists AD OUs - along with printer names

Second Part - Lists Workstations, along with printers specific to those

Third Part - Sets the default printer and Lists Specific Local Printers names that are not to be set

1) Script is run

2) Gets OU and name of the workstation.

3)Will unmap network printers

3) Will find the OU the workstation is in and will map the printers there

4) Will find the printers assigned to the workstation and will map them

5) Will then set the default printer. This will be a local printer (unless the name is in the exceptions list), if there isn't a local printer or non that are exempted then it will default the printer to the first printer entry assigned to the workstation. If there are no specific printers assigned to the workstation then it will default the printer to the first entry for an OU printer

VB Script could have for example

OU Printers:

ou=finance,ou=computers,dc=domain,dc=local

\\print-server\monoprinter

\\print-server\colourphotocopier

ou=sales,ou=computers,dc=domain,dc=local

\\print-server\salesmono

Workstation Printers

sales01

\\print-server\salesmfp

LocalExemptions

Microsoft Onenote

XPS

Epson Stylus R610
