Watch the attached documentaries:

then, answer this question:

‘Consider critically to what extent is it possible to accept that a multinational

corporation will offer lower standards of wages and conditions in less

developed countries?’

You need to demonstrate:

1. Thorough knowledge and understanding of Business Ethics material and wider reading

relevant to the assessment. You should have internalized this understanding and

be able to use the material imaginatively and critically, not just reproducing it. To

achieve 80% + you will be expected to draw on extensive appropriate literature

beyond the module materials. You must show that you understand the distinction

between theoretical propositions and empirical evidence. You must be critically

aware of the limitations of both, and not generalize on the basis of limited

observation or inadequate theory. You must make appropriate source references.

2. Strong evidence of conceptualization. This is demonstrated in the understanding

displayed of theoretical concepts, frameworks and perspectives and the ability to

form links between them. You should demonstrate considerable ability in drawing

on these appropriately in constructing your own arguments.

3. Strong evidence of interpreting appropriate conceptual frameworks in the

explanation of and reflection on the practice being reported on, and thereby

linking theory, practice and experience. The assessments must not be narrative

and anecdotal.

4. The assessments must be coherent and logical in its structure. The presentation

must be of a high standard and must be clearly expressed following the

formatting instructions you are given. References must be harvard referencing system

you should mention:

Issues of Values, Law and Ethics in Business. The business system. Ethics in the marketplace; why simply obeying the law is insufficient.

Evaluating Normative Ethical Theory and Descriptive Ethical Theory. Corporate social responsibility; stakeholder theory of the firm; corporate accountability – the firm as a political actor; corporate citizenship: is there anything new here?
