We would like a design for a pair of wireless, waterproof earphones. They must fit any ear (i.e mouldable or can be adjusted to fit some other way). They must be streamlined and simple whilst also being durable and stay in the ear during high energy activities (we are anticipating these will be used for many sports from jogging and swimming to snowboarding and surfing so they must be versatile). Products like this already exist but we would like ours to look very different. I've attached some examples of current products and highlighted desired points of difference.
For the look and feel of the products, it needs to look cool, simplistic, young and fun while also being hi tech. I've also attached a rough mood board for the type of feel we are going for but please feel free to use your imagination!
In terms of the technical side, the earphones must have a battery small enough to fit inside an ear, with a long battery life and ability to be charged via powermat , a bluetooth or other wireless transmitter (we will consider other options) and a speaker (obviously) that needs to be fairly good quality . The focus for these drawings is not necessarily on the electronics (i.e the drawings don’t need to include the specifics) but they do need to be considered in the design. If you can go into specifics on the electronics that would be impressive but not necessarily required.
We would like manufacture ready drawings for prototyping, with consideration of materials and cost to be developed. The priority is the industrial design of the earphones rather than the electronics. Feel free to use your imagination -the winning design will be innovative, unique and attractive.
