My customer has a stock management system that was written by an unknown previous partner about 10000 years ago in presumably COBOL that can only run on his old Dos machine (the original system developer dude is unfortunately no longer alive)
The new system I am writing is developed for Vista / XP platform with a MS Access back end database
The problem is I need to export the stock and customer tables or convert the tables into a delimited format so that the years of data can be imported into the new system
I need the data to be in [login to view URL], .mdb, .dbf , .xls or any delimited format
The old system has files name extension like [login to view URL] AND [login to view URL]
I need something that can open and export the cobol data to one of the previously mentioned formats
It would be nice if it is written in VB6 but if not possible any format will work
The data or any portion of the data in its exported, extrapolated, compiled or un compiled format or any part of the data original or exported file is to be treated as strictly private and confidential. The developed solution and all the related communication is to be treated as strictly private and confidential.
Ps some of the data seems to be in a binary data file
