Database Driven Rewards Website - Development and Design

We have a very successful membership website in the travel business. We need to build a separate website (our “Rewards” site) to host all of the affiliate businesses we are associated with (currently over 200). Our members will be able to use these businesses (links) to make purchases on and offline. When they do they are rewarded with points on our membership site (and we of course gain the affiliate commission). This satellite website will be very simple. It will be a database (MySQL?) of the affiliate businesses with a special* search page as the front end. Our members will be able to access the site via an i-framed page on our site to the search page of the Rewards site. Using the search functions on the front end they will then see a list of the businesses that meet their search criteria. They will then select the site(s) they are interested in via the affiliate link. This will open an i-framed page directly on the affiliate site. The search results page should be designed along the lines of [login to view URL] or other service that provides a front end search and then produces the results in list (table?? CSS??) format. So the essentials of this job are: 1. Create the database that will hold all of the affiliate information. 2. Design the UI for us to input affiliate information. 3. Design the dynamic search results page that will display the affiliate information for all of the affiliates that meet the search criteria. 4. Design it so that when an affiliate link is clicked the affiliate page opens in an i-frame on our Partner site. 5. Create the Search Page front end* 6. We would like to do something interesting with the search page. We are looking at 3D earth software that we could program (KML?) with info on our Rewards affiliates. As we are a world wide organization with members all over the world we would like them to be able to spin the globe (like Google Earth) to select the area(s) they are interested in. Then they could zoom into specific regions or cities for more local information (we have local merchants as well). This is the idea, but it is also true that most of our affiliates are web based and so these non-geographically based affiliate partners would also have to be represented in the globe search (basically they would show in all results regardless of geographical location chosen by the user). We recognize that it many be necessary to hire someone besides the person who develops the database site to develop this globe interface.
