Hello, Does your ssh allows for root logins directly or need a non uid 0 user and then su or sudo to root? If it allows root login we should be able to login as root as the /var permissions shouldn't matter for root and then we can readjust permissions on /var. What happens is you changed entier /var and subdirectories ownership to apache:apche so now none of the root users can't access/write to directories services use like mysql and so on which is why you can't login as regular user. Do you have any way of spawning a root shell on this instance?

Hi, the SSH server has very strict rules regarding the permission of their files. That's probably where the fault is. If that's the case, I could mount your volume in another instance and fix the permissions to allow SSH again.
