Looking for a complete web site. Right now I am more interested in functionality, but if you can help with design, that is a bonus. Site can be built in Wordpress or any other well-supported CMS.
It is not exactly a Digg clone, but it will incorporate various aspects of Digg, including user-submitted content and voting.
## Deliverables
The site is very much like Digg but
1. Users (after logging-in) will be able to submit content. The submission forms will change based on what "category" the user chooses. In addition to various text fields, user will be able to link to a image on the web that displays the content (for example, a book or game cover). The system will use the submission title and category to check if something similar has already been submitted. If so, it will give the user the opportunity to cancel the submission (like on Digg).
It must be easy for the site administrator to add new categories and customize new forms so users can submit content to these categories.
2. Submissions (along with pictures) are displayed on the main page of the site. Visitors can use check boxes on the top of the page to select which content categories are displayed (one or more at a time). Visitors will also be able to use check boxes to only display submissions within a certain date range or submissions above a certain number of votes.
3. Registered users will be able to vote on submissions. Not just a typical "vote up/vote down" but also based on other metrics. They can only vote once for each submission. The system should keep track of what they have voted on.
4. Each piece of content on the main page will link to its own "details" page, which will have a comment board. Comments should be threaded. Bonus if the comments can be voted up/down (which impacts the order in which they are displayed) like on reddit.
