Completely Remove Extension from Magento including all Database entries

I have a realex payment gateway extension that was installed via magento connect. It is not working correctly and Realex have told me to totally remove it from Magento.
I tried uninstalling it and took out tables from database but when I reinstalled it i had the same problem and the settings reappeared too so I must have missed some tables in phpmyadmin.
The other solution given by Realex was "You may have to backup of the shopping cart data and do a fresh install as the database has been corrupted by installing through Magento Connect."
I would like to try to remove it manually before I do a fresh install as that would take alot of time.
