Operation:
~User launches application
~Application displays installed / detected TWAIN scanners and prompts user to select one
~On selection, software asks user to place A4 paper to be scanned into scanner (paper size will always be A4)
~User places this in their scanner, then clicks on CONTINUE
~The software does a low-res preview scan and displays the scanned image
~Software now scans the image as:
Width 2241 pixels
Height 2854 pixels
Horizontal Resolution: 300dpi
Vertical Resolution: 300dpi
Bit Depth: 1
Frame Count: 1
File type: tif
~User is prompted to connect to the internet to upload the file to our server (using secure ftp over ssh)
~Once user confirms this, the scanned file is uploaded to the server in a zip file and a text "marker" file is also put in the zip file (marker text file will exist as "[login to view URL]" in the program directory and will be unique to each customer - this file will be attached by the webserver and downloaded with the software - you need not worry about this element - just make provision for the file to be included with the scanned image.)
~JOB DONE!!!!
The GUI should be as slick as possible - see <[login to view URL]> for ideas - I like this GUI - I think it looks fabulous! This application will be used by the most unintelligent class of customer - which is why it needs to be completely idiot proof.
GOOD LUCK!
