Dear RentACoders,
We are looking for a talented DirectShow filter developer who can create a new filter from scratch.
** Our goal is to restore audio that's been clipped due to high volume. We created an exact algorithm that we want to use. It uses an implementation of [Bezier Curves][1] and volume adjustment to restore clipped audio.
**_Step-by-step approach_
**
1. Take input from audio stream
2. Detect clipped peaks (where audio signal exceeds maximum allowed volume for at least three consecutive samples)
3. Calculate angle/slope of the last X-number of samples that led to the clip
4. Calculate angle/slope of the next Y-number of samples after the clip
5. Create a four-point Bezier Curve to get missing sample values
6. Add the missing values to the output stream to restore clipped audio samples
6. Return the output
_**Developer Requirements**
_
1. You have to be familiar with Audio Processing and DirectShow filters
2. You have to implement our algorithm using Bezier Curves and use them to shape sound
3. No third-party source code is allowed. Entire project has to be written from scratch.
4. We can provide graphics to visualize how the math should work
_**Additional notes**_
This DirectShow filter has to accept all types of audio input, including 16bit ane 24bit streams.
If you are a professional DirectShow developer with a firm grasp of mathematics, we look forward to having you onboard! This should be an interesting assignment with a high coolness factor.
We look forward to your bid.
Thank you.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
