CommentEngine.net - easy, open source asp.net comment system

Need a clean, threaded comment system very similar in appearance to the one used in the default setup of [login to view URL] (open source). The target use will be for use in an Intranet situation, so it doesn't need all the overhead, theme management, and backend administration of BlogEngine.net. The code for this project will be open sourced as well, so any code used needs to be done with that in mind. Basically, it is threaded comments that can easily be added to any asp.net page. Comments need to be stored in an Access database. Just pass the code a parent ID and it loads any comments associated with that parent ID in a manner that looks like the threaded comments of BlogEngine.net. BlogEngine says it is simple, but it is really pretty complicated. I think we can duplicate the threaded comments and greatly reduce the complexity by removing the Blog, themes, and management features, and make a nice simple "[login to view URL]" for use in an Intranet environment. ## Deliverables [login to view URL] Need a drop-in threaded comment system that displays identical to the threaded comments in a default setup of [login to view URL], minus the blog part and with the following minor changes: 1) The target of this project is for Intranet use. If the user isn't logged in, the box to type your name when comments will be added will be there, if they are authenticated, it removes the box and puts in the user's login instead, so authenticated users can't type in a name (if user = Network SERVICE, give a box to type name in, else use the login name). 2) There needs to be an easy way to not display the user icons that [login to view URL] uses. The program needs to drop some code on a page and call the commentEngine by passing it a variable, which loads the threaded comments from a Microsoft Access database associated with ParentID and display identical to the threaded comments in the default setup of BlogEngine.net. Users need a way to add a comment and have it stored back into the same Access database. (example: parentID = 51, commentEngine(51), returns all the comments for parentID 51 and loads it up on the page...and with a way to add comments). To make it easy, since our target use is intranet use, the backend administrator functions (approved posts, filters, etc. etc.), do not have to be implemented. I would also rather not have any complied DLL files. Shared code just needs to be put in the App_code folder. If a DLL must be done, source and clear instructions must be included on how to compile the dll. Just a clean simple way to add and display threaded comments to any asp.net page that loads and has a parentID that is not null. Code will be in ASP.NET 3.5 and Visual Basic. Simple Microsoft Access .mdb for the database backend. Try and code in a way that makes it easy to change the database to a real SQL server if possible. This project will be made public under a free license. [login to view URL] is licensed under the [Microsoft Reciprocal License][1], and if code is used from [login to view URL], it needs to be relicensed under this license. However the project is done, the code will be released under a license as close to GPL as possible, so keep this in mind while coding.
