I need an iPhone app that presents the user with a series of 10-20 questions with 1-5 multiple choice answers each. On the back-end, each possible answer is assigned a value (see below for additional info about the value), and the follow-up question will vary depending on the answer to the prior question. So in other words, if the question is “what is your favorite fruit” and the possible answers are “orange” and “banana”, the user who answers “orange" would receive, say, question 12 — but the user who answered “banana” would receive question 15. After each question/answer pair, a screen of information is presented and the user must press a button or swipe to continue to the next question.
No matter which path the user ends up following, the full group of questions will be asked of each user. I would supply the question/answer-map for each possible path.
At the end of the question sequence, the total value will determine which unique closing screen information will be presented. Because the combined values aren’t assessed like a test score (e.g., there’s no “50-70% correct = C+” grading system), there needs to be a system to ensure that no two unique paths can result in the same closing-screen variant being shown. I’m not a developer, but it strikes me that the logic could be something like: "if end-of-question value is 1A / 2C / 3D / 4B, then display closing-screen #16."
Please estimate the app-build as described, and also provide a second estimate to include the cost of functionality and training documentation that will allow me to update and maintain the app after the initial build (for example, to add new questions, or change screen text).
