App Programming for halal food

Hi, I read and understand the basic requirements of android app for scanning products and comparing its gradient with database to find if it is Halal or not. I have experience and I am ready to do it. Questions: 1. Will the Database to compare with will be online database or Local ? 2. While scanning the bar code scanning , it there any database available where the info can be retrieved on the basis of bar code.? Thanks Abdul Rashid
