Justify • vision • purpose • what makes it different to other companies • its boundaries of operations of the company • what it attempts to become – internally and externally Portfolio Analysis: Demonstrate your organisation’s resource allocation by applying the BCG Matrix:  Justify the BCG matrix For example: Business units need to know how to allocate their resources such as: financial, human; time; other resources to the company’s product and business portfolio planning Competitor Analysis:  Justify the position of your organisation  Compare your organisation’s portfolio (i.e. BCG) with its main competitor/s Reflection through critical thinking:  Having identified your company’s mission and objectives you should now ensure (analyse) the objectives based on the SWOT are appropriate/ realistic/attainable Reflection through critical thinking: Explain the implications of your portfolio analysis in terms of strengths or weaknesses, and their overall effects on the firm
