Hello, My name is Tom Uffner and I am an expert UNIX / Linux Administrator and programmer. There are several ways that I could approach this project: If the single command(s) that you want to allow these users are suitable, that is, they don't allow any trickery like shell escapes or ability to execute other commands and they don't require any arguments, then I could simply the command as the user's shell ... no need for even an exit. just log in and the command runs then exits automatically leaving its output in the ssh window. If that is not acceptable, or not possible, I would install an open-source restricted shell (the name of which I will reveal when hired) and configure it to only execute your chosen command and the builtin command "exit". I will of course provide source & documentation if desired. Thank you, Tom

Add group and set login shell for each user to this command, no need in exit command. Ssh will control authentication and run command for user automatically.

there are few scripts that run when the user start a new shell session. In debian there is a ".bashrc" script file. With this file we can alias to null every command the user don't need to run. then we need to change the owner of .bashrc script to root, this way the users (which aren't sudoers) can't modify that.

I will write an script you to replace the users' shell which you want to restrict so that they can only run the script and nothing else. (I will strict *anything else* by restricting the characters in the output so that no user can execute another command after the first one without any restriction.)

Hi! I suggest you to use lshell - it becomes very easy to restrict user's access to a limited set of command.
