Develop a Labview sub VI to find maximum intensity in x-y plane

The sub VI I want to develop is for finding maximum intensity in x-y plane. Two stages are being used to locate a global maximum in x-y plane. The intensity profile is Gaussian with around 25 micron FWHM (full width half maximum). But the area where the Gaussian intensity profile is 4x4 mm. Therefore we need to find an effective way to find the maximum intensity as quick as possible instead of doing line scanning of the entire area.
