Custom Website Template

SPECIFICATION FOR WEBSITE TEMPLATE The purpose of the website is to be the home page for customers to learn about our new iPhone app and "be motivated" to sign up for our service and buy the app in the App Store. Many customers may be viewing the site on their iPhone; therefore, compatibility with Mobile Safari is critical. Essentially, we're looking for a custom website template (with navigation) that is developed in HTML, CSS, and Javascript that we can use to further develop the site in the future. SCOPE The project owner will be providing the site content (or copy) for the Home page, including the logo, iPhone graphic, product screenshots, and video. Moreover, the project owner will provide content for the Support, About Us, Screenshots, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy pages. This project will not require any backend database integration or server-side scripting/development with technologies such as Java Server Pages (JSP), PHP, or ASP.net. Only HTML, cascading style sheet (CSS), and Javascript development should be required. In the attached website design mockup ([login to view URL]), the following items are out-of-scope for this project: * The code that performs the user sign-in by clicking the Sign In link (2). * The code that allows the user to buy the app by clicking the Buy Now button (5). SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION The website should be accessible to search engine spiders and be coded with good on-page search engine optimization. The project owner will supply the keywords and phrases. STYLE AND LAYOUT We're minimalists, so the less clutter the better. We prefer a modern look and feel. Our primary target audience is busy moms in the United States and Canada. The site style must incorporate our App's logo colors and it must convey high quality. Cascading style sheets must define the site style elements. A common navigation bar should be included on all pages. The navigation bar will include links to the Home page, Support, About Us, and Contact. There are lot of great iPhone app sites out there. Check out these links: [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS The website must be compatible with the most popular web browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Moreover, the site must be optimized for viewing with Mobile Safari on an iPhone or iPod touch. Some tips are here: [login to view URL] More details in Apple's dev center. The site shall contain no Flash or any other technology that is incompatible on the iPhone. The website must be compatible with Tomcat 6.x ([login to view URL]) ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS * No CSS code or other scripts such as Javascript can be embedded in the page code The implementation code must be put into separate files and linked in the page headers. Moreover, the CSS and Javascript files must be reusable for future projects. * CSS styles must be created for all the common elements on the page such as page links, content links, bullet lists, paragraphs, copyright, text elements, navigation bar, buttons, etc. * All code on the site should validate to W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) specifications. * All copyrights must be transferred to the project owner. * All source code must be transferred to the project owner. METHOD We prefer to work iteratively; so, first we'll finalize the design, incorporate feedback, build a draft website, incorporate comments and then complete the website template. SKILL REQUIREMENTS We’re looking for great web site design and web page development skills (HTML, CSS, and Javascript). PROJECT DEADLINE: Mid-May 2011
