I have a browser plugin that is required by my website running at [login to view URL]
In order to use the plugin, the user can create a web page in a separate domain and reference the script [login to view URL] in the headers in order to use the plugin. One of the things that the script module does is check if the plugin is already installed and if not, displays a dialog to prompt the user to install it.
It works, but I want to improve it with the following changes in the SCardCOM_ShowDownloadNotice function:
1. First, the plugin only exists for Windows, so if the browser is some other operating system, the message should say "for the moment this web site only works in Windows".
2. Currently the plugin tries to detect if the target web site is using Twitter Bootstrap, jQuery UI or none on them and accordingly use .modal .dialog or build it's own dialog box. But this gets complicated with new frameworks, transparency is a problem and I think I would prefer to just have a yellow bar showing in the top part of the browser Window telling the user to install or upgrade the plugin. I am not sure if leveraging an existing framework makes sense for this simple task as there are many and I don't want to make assumptions about the user having any of them (except probably the base jQuery that is currently a requirement of [login to view URL] in order to do AJAX).
If you want to bid for this project, just visit [login to view URL] and you would get the message. Examine the SCardCOM_ShowDownloadNotice function in [login to view URL] and let me know if you have questions.
