I have previously developed a chat server. Both server and client are desktop applications. Sockets and Java NIO are used. There are two options public chat and private chat. The user can enter a message which can be seen by all logged-in users. The user can double click on a particular another user name to initiate private chat with him. The user can add other user(s) in the private chat. If you need a web version of this application, then half of the code is already ready.

Hi, Do you want to fix something, it seems like it's working, or a new chat server and client. I can fix it if you tell me the bugs, or I can make a new chat server and client for you. I can make users login, maybe a database to store users/passwords/other informations. Please describe your requirements; what functions this chat should have.
