I need to build a topology composed of multiple POPs. Each of which consists of a number of servers connected via switch. (This has to be implemented using mininet). Currently I need to implement the topology and ensure the connectivity among the nodes. I need to at least create a number of 100 POPs.
- Requirement 1: Create a topology composed of 100 POPs. Each of which is composed of multiple servers. All POPs are connected and the capacity of the physical resources at first is assumed to be available.
- Requirement 2: Ensure connectivity among all nodes to embed a number of instances of three or four types. Each type differ in capacity of CPU, RAM, and storage.
- Requirement 3: embed the virtual machines into physical servers and map the virtual links connecting these VMs onto physical links.
- Requirement 4: For each instance, it is assumed that each VM may need multiple instances of the same server type and specification. These instances scale up/down based on the traffic demand. For example, if a high traffic has been established, a number of VM instance increases to handle this traffic. Once the traffic degrades, the instance is either turned off or permanently destroyed. Each instance in service chain must me associated with the successor VM instance.
Throughput, end-to-end delay, processing delay and queuing delay of requests and the goal is to come up with an algorithm to minimize these parameters and ensure the least number of instances is allocated to process the traffic.
